Team Tuning
Why Team Tuning?
Most organisations are structured around Teams although these structures are becoming increasingly complicated as project teams overlap with cross-functional teams, leadership teams merge with management teams and committees proliferate.
In practice teams can suffer from poor direction, interpersonal tensions, or conflicts of interest. Most teams are not dysfunctional but neither are they fully functional. Team Tuning is a highly focused, one day facilitated event that brings new or existing teams quickly to a higher level of performance. By focusing on the business of the team it provides long term efficiencies rather than “team building” which only focuses on the people and only lasts until the membership changes – sometimes months or even weeks.
What results will I achieve?
Team Tuning is a one day workshop designed specifically for new or existing teams; to create focus at a time of change or stimulate and revitalise between changes. Led by a specially trained facilitator the team will explore, agree and genuinely commit to
- An understanding of the importance of the four elements that are required for successful teams
- An agreement on the team’s higher Purpose with a clear pathway to each individual’s purpose and role
- A celebration of current performance
- An agreement and prioritisation of barriers to ongoing performance be they internal, interpersonal or organisational
- A vision of how things should be instead of the current barriers
- Specific action planning to overcome the barriers, to make the vision become a reality and deliver on the team’s Purpose.
Who is it for?
Team Tuning is designed for new or existing teams of ideally up to 12 people. Teams can be permanent or temporary, cross-functional or cross-cultural and this is a valuable investment for teams of implementers, of managers or senior leadership teams up to boardroom level.
How is it structured?
Team Tuning is an engaging, interactive workshop that avoids PowerPoint or teaching but rather puts the focus on facilitating a positive, open and constructively honest discussion. This allows a team to explore and overcome a wide array of issues, problems and barriers that are getting in the way of them delivering on their personal and team goals.
