Outplacement Coaching
Why Outplacement Coaching?
At times of down-sizing and restructuring it is inevitable that organisations have to make roles redundant, either individually or en masse. Handled in the wrong way, this can create frustrated, upset and demoralised staff intent on taking your company to an industrial tribunal or trial-by-media.
However, handled well, redundant staff can see the opportunities opened up for them and appreciate it as a positive new start. An altogether more confident and reassuring result for both the redundant staff and the colleagues they leave behind.
What is Outplacement Coaching?
Excel Communications takes a very personal approach to supporting your outplacement needs. Combining over 20 years of high level executive coaching experience, with tools such as the MBTI or Thinking Styles psychometric assessment, we can make a real difference. In a private one-to-one setting, participants have an agenda tailored to their needs. This may include:
- Recognising their reaction to change (redundancy) and being coached to a resourceful, renewal state
- Goal setting to create a specific and realistic vision of their new, employed status
- Eliciting of a “values hierarchy” so that they can seek out job opportunities that will be motivational
- Generating a personal capability profile so they know what they have of value to offer new employers
What results will I achieve?
To help candidates better understand themselves, their strengths and potential weaknesses, the above session can be supported by behavioural or psychometric assessments. This ensures that they can enter the selection process confident in their own self-awareness, able to sell themselves and what they can offer.
The first Outplacement Coaching session is focused on the planning phase. Experience suggests that it is crucial to get people emotionally and organisationally prepared for their redundancy and new job search before moving on.
The second coaching session is timed to coincide with the implementation phase of recruitment and is an opportunity to coach, train and refine the communication skills required to be a successful candidate. This covers:
