Job Title:Sales Consultant - The Excel Academy
The Opportunity: The Excel Academy is a specialised service designed to support sales and marketing professionals in the Pharma and Healthcare industry by providing training for medical professionals to help with Key Opinion Leader Programmes and other relationship building projects.
Reports to: Head of Sales & Marketing – The Excel Academy
Based: At the Marlow head office although some travel to meet with clients and oversee events will be required

The Role in Brief
The role is ideally suited to someone looking for a new challenge and a chance to show what they are capable of. The Excel Academy is expected to grow by 200% in 2008 and so there is a huge opportunity to build on this momentum and establish The Excel Academy in line with our strap line, which is to become:

Role and responsibilities
With the support of your line manager, the Administration Team and the Directors of Excel, your role is to sell The Excel Academy service to pharmaceutical and healthcare companies. This will be done by developing a network of contacts, building relationships across your accounts and establishing partnerships with your clients to help their marketing activities via the use of the Excel Academy.
Main Activities
- Proactively seek out additional sales opportunities from our existing pharmaceutical and medical communications accounts
- Meet with clients, assess their professional relations/marketing strategies and sell The Excel Academy concept in partnership with those strategies
- Follow up with clients appropriately to ensure ongoing needs are fully met
- Liaise with course tutors, designers and support staff to ensure customer satisfaction
Knowledge/Experience/Skills Required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Good personal image and presentation skills
- Self-motivation and well organised
- An understanding of :
- persuasive selling and client management
- the subtle relationship between NHS key opinion leaders, the pharmaceutical industry and medical communications companies

- ability to follow up leads, understand individual client requirements and to communicate Excel’s benefits, products and solutions

Measures
Suitable measures of success will be developed in conjunction with the Excel Director, which will include short and long-term objectives that will be reviewed regularly. These will include revenue or profitability targets and may include some activity related targets in the short-term as agreed.

Job Title:Head of Sales and Marketing - Outcome Selling
The Opportunity: Outcome Selling is a suite of training and development programmes designed specifically for sales professionals. It is already proving very popular to the extent that we now need someone to head up this important part of our business.
Reports to: Excel Director

Purpose of the Role: This is a new position that requires revenue generation and account management through the sales and marketing of the Outcome Selling portfolio and management of successfully delivered activities. Initially this is through direct selling to clients but with a strategy of future national and international franchising through other training companies.

Main Activities - Short Term:
- Proactively seek out additional sales opportunities from our existing accounts
- Develop the Outcome Selling brand and marketing plan
- Implement marketing plan to generate and follow-up on leads for new business
- Meet with clients, assess their sales strategies and sell the Outcome Selling concept in partnership with those strategies
- Follow up with clients appropriately to ensure ongoing needs are fully met
- Liaise with course tutors, designers and support staff to ensure customer satisfaction
Additional Activities - Medium/Long Term:
- Create franchising plan, standards and procedures
- Implement business-to-business franchise marketing
- Carry through business-to-business sales to generate UK franchisees
- Manage franchise induction and standards management resources and processes
- Prepare strategic plan for overseas franchising opportunities
Knowledge/Experience/Skills Required:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A track record of success in sales
- Good personal image and presentation skills

- An understanding of:

Initially the following decisions would be made jointly with a Director but would, with time, all fall within the remit of the Manager:
- How best to invest resources (money/time) for the marketing strategy
- Project pricing and profit strategy for each client
- Direction of sales activities

Half of the job holders responsibility is:
